GRAPHENE OXIDE MICROCAPSULES (GOMs) WITH LINSEED OIL CORE VIA PICKERING EMULSION METHOD: EFFECT OF DISPERSE SPEED

Graphene oxide microcapsules (GOMs) have been prepared through Pickering emulsion method by varying the disperse speed to study its effect on GOM’s size. The GOMs were characterized phase separation observation, polarized optical microscope (POM), and particle size analyser (PSA). Phase observation showed more viscous cloudy was produced when increased. After 24 hours, only 800 rpm did not show any separation. POM characterization depicted that increasing emulsification energy led finer with 1200 sample showing smallest microcapsule of around 8 ?m. However, PSA analysis suggested although controls size, amount GO in plays an important role for maintain stability. Emulsion at possesses satisfactory stability diameter 11.15 result also graphene encapsulated linseed oil may act as a promising candidate healing self-healing coating system. ABSTRAK: Mikrokapsul oksida telah dihasilkan melalui kaedah emulsifikasi dengan memvariasikan tenaga pengemulsi untuk mengkaji kesannya terhadap saiz GOMs. dicirikan pemerhatian pemisahan fasa, mikroskop optik polarisasi (POM) dan penganalisis zarah Pemerhatian fasa menunjukkan emulsi yang lebih likat keruh apabila kelajuan meningkat.
